Fynbos Project

Afriplex and Cape Nature’s current involvement in community projects is proof of its commitment to the promotion of the propagation of the indigenous species of Africa and the upliftment of local communities.

The BLCF Fynbos project, financed by the British Government’s Department for International Development, was started in 2003. It involves the cultivation and commercialisation of Fynbos species indigenous to South Africa by previously disadvantaged communities. Long-term agreements with multinational companies are negotiated in order to ensure a stable market for products.

Supporting Sport

Afriplex is dedicated to health. Since this can only be achieved with a healthy body, we promote various sporting activities involving Afriplex employees as well as our surrounding communities. Afriplex is the sole sponsor of YLAC (Youth League Against Crime), a local rugby team from the rural town of Van Rhynsdorp. The team comprises of community members who play an active role in the battle against crime in the region.

Over the past two years the team has achieved phenomenal sporting successes with two of its team members being promoted to provincial level.

Through the integrity with which we conduct our research, propagation, harvesting and extracting operations, the Afriplex name is swiftly becoming synonymous with unsurpassed quality and service. The company looks forward to building upon this reputation in the future … and to cultivating more of Africa’s natural miracles to help heal the world.
