Plant cultivation

OUR KEY AIM IS UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL OF TRADITIONALLY USED AFRICAN BOTANICALS IN ORDER TO NURTURE WELLNESS WORLDWIDE.

We make use of the latest technology, for example tissue culture technology, to propagate different plant species to produce good quality seed/ling material for our agricultural enterprises. At our fully automated greenhouses we ensure a controlled environment where temperature, humidity and nutrient dosage are set according to specification for the rooting of cuttings, tissue culture propagation and seed germination. A variety of indigenous plant extracts are available, although the main focus of our commercial plantings is Rooibos, Honeybush, Hoodia gordonii, Pelargonium sidoides, Buchu and a selection of African Aloe species

Approved suppliers to ensure consistency

The suppliers of our raw material have to adhere to a stringent set of quality standards and are approved only after a rigorous quality audit by our Quality Assurance Department (a process that is repeated biannually to ensure consistent quality of produce).

Agricultural cultivation to secure supplies for our clients

Our commercial farming enterprises, which focus mainly on Rooibos, Hoodia gordonii, Pelargonium sidoides, Buchu (Agathosma betulina) and a selection of African Aloe species, allow our clients a secure supply of these raw materials for their products. In some instances our clients can even choose to co-own such enterprises, to ensure long-term assurance of raw material quality and availability.

Strategic relationships to develop an ethical industry

We have a mutually beneficial strategic relationship with non-profit organisations, which strives to alleviate poverty and protect biodiversity in the region by developing an industry that is not only economically successful, but also ethical and sustainable.
